About Paraguay4Life

What Paraguay4Life is about#
Paraguay4Life is a multilingual information and guide platform about Paraguay. Our aim is not glossy hype — but real-life orientation.
We write for people who are genuinely interested in Paraguay, already live here, plan to stay longer, or are considering moving. Many things in Paraguay are straightforward once you understand a few basics. That’s exactly what we want to help with.
A lot of questions don’t come up in travel guides — they show up in everyday life: What’s considered “normal” here? How do things actually work? What are typical pitfalls? And which small details make life easier in the long run?
Our topic areas#
Paraguay4Life is growing step by step. We focus on practical usefulness and realistic insights in these areas:
- Life in Paraguay: housing, services and supplies, costs, language, mindset, habits, and typical everyday situations.
- Moving & settling in: factual information for initial orientation around the topic.
- Basics: structure, climate, culture, and traditions — content that remains useful over time.
- DIY: recipes and practical, everyday how-tos.
Additional areas — such as plants and self-sufficiency, travel within Paraguay, or more in-depth special topics — will be added gradually.
Who this is for#
- People interested in Paraguay with a realistic mindset
- People with concrete plans to move
- People already living in Paraguay — newly arrived or long-term — who want a deeper understanding of the country
- And of course anyone who is seriously interested in Paraguay
What you won’t find here#
- No sensational stories
- No empty promises
- No “move and everything will be easy” narratives
- No political debates
We focus on orientation — not dramatization.
How we work#
We choose topics carefully, research thoroughly, and check information to the best of our knowledge.Posts are updated when necessary and marked with an update date.
Conditions can change — for example rules, opening hours, processes, or prices. That’s why our articles are meant as guidance and support, not as a guarantee.
Where it fits, we also include practical experience — not as a diary, but as an added benefit: things you only learn once you actually live here and deal with everyday reality.
A personal note#
We — my husband, our pets, and I — have been living in Paraguay for several years.
When we first moved, we spent a lot of time researching and talking to people who already lived here. Many of the questions we had back then are exactly the topics we write about today.
Even now, everyday life brings up practical questions, such as:
- Where do I find a good car repair shop?
- Which cultural differences often lead to misunderstandings?
- How do I handle language barriers?
These experiences flow into our content — factual, thoughtful, and focused on practical usefulness.
